MALDEN -- Josie May Gurlen, 92, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, at Lucy Lee Health Care Systems in Poplar Bluff.
She was born Oct. 22, 1907, in Bragg City, daughter of William and Lizzie Frances Brown. She and Jesse Ross Gurlen were married July 7, 1925, in Blytheville, Ark. He died Nov. 15, 1978.
Gurlen was a member of First Christian Church in Malden, and Carnation Chapter Order of Eastern Star. She was a past worthy matron of Madonna Chapter OES, and past district deputy of 51st District OES.
Survivors include a son, James "Buddy" Gurlen of Poplar Bluff; a daughter, Peggy Sinopole of St. Louis; four grandsons; and two great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, a sister, and a brother.
Friends may call at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden after 6 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Dan Hargrave officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park in Malden.
