Juanita F. Thompson, 95, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

She was born July 24, 1920, in Beaver Creek, Illinois, to Russell and Golda Norman Lawrence. She and Raymond Thompson were married July 8, 1936, at East St. Louis, Illinois. He preceded her in death in June 1983.

She worked for 33 years at Southwestern Bell in St. Louis. She loved her family, loved to play piano and organ and enjoyed doing yard work. Juanita lived to see five generations of her family.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandy (Arnie) Nagel of Jackson; four grandchildren, Tom Tharp, Scott Nagel, Susan (Joel) Allison and Melinda (Craig) Hartmann; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Ruthanne Tharp-Oglesby; sister, Pearl Hill; and grandchild, Lisa Mead.

A private graveside funeral service will be Monday at Reiss Chapel at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, Illinois, with the Rev. Larry Patton officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights.
