Katheryn "Katie" J. Schweizer, 88, of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, May 28, 2006, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born Friday, July 27, 1917, in Cantwell, Mo., daughter of Augustus and Mary E. Baldrich Ramsey. She and William C. Schweizer were married on Nov. 27, 1991, in Benton, Mo. He preceded her in death on June 16, 2000...

Katheryn "Katie" J. Schweizer, 88, of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, May 28, 2006, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Friday, July 27, 1917, in Cantwell, Mo., daughter of Augustus and Mary E. Baldrich Ramsey. She and William C. Schweizer were married on Nov. 27, 1991, in Benton, Mo. He preceded her in death on June 16, 2000.

Schweizer had been a Cape Girardeau resident for 46 years and was a graduate of Desloge High School. She was a waitress at the Golden Coin Restaurant in the Sunny Hill Hotel for 16 years and had been retired for 26 years. Schweizer was also a member of VFW Post 3838 Auxiliary in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include two sisters, Bertha Stotler of Desloge, Mo., and Carole Reddick of Scott City; a brother, Bill Ramsey of Columbus Ga.; two nieces, Donna E. Essner of Scott City and Janice L. Gray of Patterson, Mo.; and a nephew, Robert W. Reddick of Scott City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a daughter and four sisters.

Visitation was held at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home on Monday, May 29, 2006, from 9 to 11 a.m.

Service was held at the funeral home on Monday, May 29, 2006, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating.

Entombment was in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
