Kenneth Ray Brewer, 59 of Advance, Mo., was born March 18, 1947, in Gideon, Mo., the son of Turner and Mattie Pickard Brewer and passed away Nov. 18, 2006, near his home.

Ken worked for Prairie Farms as a milk man for over 25 years. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years. Ken was a down-to-earth guy who loved the outdoors. He was an avid deer hunter and also enjoyed the solitude of fishing. One of Ken's preferred pastimes was reading and studying the scriptures of the Holy Bible. Whether searching the scriptures along with his favorite commentary or playing Bible crossword he couldn't get enough of God's Holy word. One of Ken's special gifts was the talent of "fixing stuff." He could take a broken, tossed away old clock or watch and make it tick again. He fixed many friends and neighbors lawnmowers and small tractors. Ken had a passion to assist those in need. He was quoted several times saying, "God gave me the talent of 'fixin stuff,' and if I don't use it then it defeats the purpose of God giving me the gift."

Another part of Ken's life were his grandchildren. He loved each one of them very much and had fun playing games with all four of them. Ken always felt a strong call and responsibility to provide for his family. He loved his children dearly. Many times he would say how proud he was of them, taking so much pride in teaching a valued lesson to one of his children. He pushed them all to be honest, hardworking and independent.

Ken's most cherished and loved person in his life was his wife, Tonya. Above all he loved her companionship.

Ken also loved hanging out with his buddies; Jim Hazel and Robert Wilfong. Not only did he have fun talking about life's issues with them, there is not one thing in the world he wouldn't have done for them.

Ken had wonderful times when his sisters would come to visit. They would stay up most of the night singing, playing dominos or cards and talking about the Bible.

Ken and Tonya Jackson were united in marriage on Aug. 24, 1985, at Poplar Bluff, Mo. and she survives at their home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Robin Kerr of Poplar Bluff; a stepdaughter and her husband, Bridget and Glenn Epps of Poplar Bluff; a stepson and his wife, Dustin and Whitney Wiseman of Marble Hill, three sisters and their husbands, Butch and Jim Downey of Catawissa, Mo., Lois and Jack Schmidt of Barnhart, Mo. and Dell and John Deuel of Lake Bay, Wash. and four grandchildren, Alex, Dacey, Dylan and Casey, all of Poplar Bluff.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Rachael Lynn Leonard on Nov. 7, 2004; three sisters and a brother.

Ken we love you and miss you. See you when we get there.

Friends may call today from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, Mo.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Keith Price will officiate, with interment at Berrong Cemetery in Gipsy, Mo.
