Kevin Brent Ammon, 55, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Fredericktown, Mo., passed away Monday, March 17, 2014. He was born Oct. 17, 1958, in Bonne Terre, Mo., son of Raymond and Wilma Umfleet Ammon. Kevin attended the House of Hope Church in Cape Girardeau. He was proud to be a member of Fredericktown High School class of 1977. Kevin Brent Ammon, 55, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Fredericktown, Mo., passed away Monday, March 17, 2014.

He was born Oct. 17, 1958, in Bonne Terre, Mo., son of Raymond and Wilma Umfleet Ammon.

Kevin attended the House of Hope Church in Cape Girardeau. He was proud to be a member of Fredericktown High School class of 1977. He enjoyed competing at barbecue cook-offs, wine making and playing softball.

Survivors include his parents of Fredericktown; a sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Steve Ferguson of Fredericktown; two sons, Nathan (Katie) Ammon of Cape Girardeau and Jordan Ammon of Daytona Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Rikki Ammon of Cape Girardeau; a niece, Casey (Keith) Burch of Farmington, Mo.; great-uncle to Ty and Brody Burch; and a very proud grandpa to Tatum Ammon.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kali Ammon; grandparents, Fred and Rosie Ammon and Charles and Myrtle Umfleet.

Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Follis and Sons Funeral Home in Fredericktown.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Blake Tiemann officiating. Interment will be in Mine La Motte Cemetery in Fredericktown.
