Kevin Patrick Wengert, 53, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 6, 1959, in Cape Girardeau, to Joseph Charles and Venita Marie McAtee Wengert.
Wengert graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School in 1977 and received a welding certificate June 2, 1977, from Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center in Cape Girardeau.
Kevin worked for Standley Batch Systems Inc. in Cape Girardeau for more than 30 years. He was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his mother, Venita Marie Wengert of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Deborah L. (Greg) Crawford and Sharon M. Cassout of Cape Girardeau and Jo Ann Hunze of Chesterfield, Mo.; a brother, Larry F. Wengert of Joliet, Ill.; two nieces, Dana and Kara Crawford; and three nephews, Brandon Crawford, Joe Hunze and Jon (Melinda) Hunze.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Daniel J. Wengert.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Hulshof officiating. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
