BELL CITY, Mo. — Larry Carpenter, 72, of Bell City peacefully passed away early morning Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022, at his home, with his family.
He was born Nov. 30, 1949, in Dover, Arkansas, to the late Raymond and Gladys Gunter Carpenter. On June 30, 1972, he was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Rhodes in Bell City. With this union they had two daughters, Shelley Carpenter and Missy (Brandon) Stewart. Larry had two grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Landon and Laney Stewart.
Larry was a farmer, mechanic and welder. He retired in 1991. After retirement, he enjoyed fishing with several special fishing buddies and doing odd jobs for others to keep him busy. He had a big heart and would help anyone who needed anything.
He was one of nine children -- five brothers and three sisters.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Carpenter.
Survivors include brothers Floyd Carpenter of Kevil, Kentucky, Euel (Barb) Carpenter of Bloomfield, Missouri, Randy (Velma) Carpenter of Matthews, Missouri, Jerry (Sharon) Carpenter of Advance, Missouri, and sisters Shirley (Dubby) Kelley of Wickliffe, Kentucky, Connie (Gary) Wyrick of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, and Denise (Alan) Long of Jackson.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2022, at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, with Mike Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Bloomfield.
