STURDIVANT -- Funeral for Lee Dalton of Sturdivant will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance. Wiley McGee will officiate, with burial in Morgan Memorial Park at Advance.
A rose croix service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today. A Masonic service will be held at 7.
Dalton, 90, died Sunday, March 8, 1998, at the California Care Center in California, Mo.
He was born Aug. 7, 1907, at Trowel, son of Lewis L. and Emma D. Hosea Dalton. He and Maude Cox were married Oct. 2, 1929, at Bloomfield.
Dalton was postmaster at Sturdivant 38 years, retiring in 1972. During that time he also was owner/operator of Sturdivant General Store.
He was a member of Swinton Christian Church, and taught a Sunday School class at Sturdivant General Baptist Church 40 years.
Dalton was a member of Zalma Masonic Lodge 545 AF&AM, and had been master, district deputy grand master, president and secretary. He was a 32nd Degree member of Scottish Rite, and member, former worthy patron, and secretary of Zalma Chapter Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Dorthy Riley of McGirk; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, a brother and two sisters.
