CHAFFEE - Leila Elizabeth Simmons, 80, of Chaffee, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1993, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born July 28, 1912, in Marston, Mo., daughter of Frank and Leila Elizabeth Reeder Haubold.

She married Ira Simmons Oct. 10, 1921. He died July 2, 1980.

Simmons was a retired school cafeteria helper at the Sikeston Public Schools. She moved to Chaffee in 1982 after living most of her life in Sikeston.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chaffee.

Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Dame of Chaffee; two foster children, Randy Simmons of Holt, Mo., Theresa Jones of New Madrid; three grandchildren, four foster-grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Friends may call after 3:30 today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Chaffee, with the Rev. Gerald Collier presiding.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
