SIKESTON, Mo. -- Lena J. Morgan, 88, of Morley, Mo., died Friday, April 26, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born Sept. 2, 1913, in Pocahontas, Ark., daughter of Dowd and Mollie Hill Johnson.

She and Albert Morgan were married May 1, 1937, in Pocahontas. He died May 10, 1998.

She had owned and operated a cafe in Oran, Mo. She had also been a cook for Scott County Central R-5 schools. She attended Morley Church of Christ. For 31 years, she was an active member and past president of the Morley VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 5368.

Survivors include two sons, Fred Morgan of Oran, Mo., and Norman Morgan of Poplar Bluff, Mo; three sisters, Tempa Throgmorton and Mary Hurn, both of Pocahontas, Ark., and Ilene Winebaugh of Rockford, Ill.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, with rites by VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 5368 at 7 p.m.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Jack Bishop officiating. Burial will be in New Morley Cemetery in Morley.
