ADVANCE -- Leslie E. Jones, 81, of Advance died Dec. 26, 1992 at the Advance Nursing Care Center.
He was born March 25, 1911, at Arbor, Mo., the son of the late Franklin Jones and Mary Ann Reynolds. He was a member of the Dongola Missionary Baptist Church in Dongola.
He was a teacher in Southeast Missouri for nine years, and worked as a heavy equipment operator for Koss Construction Co. in Des Moines, Iowa, for 35 years.
He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 101 for 40 years.
He married Clarice Winchester on Dec. 25, 1934, at Marble Hill. She survives.
He also is survived by two daughters, Kathryn Hartman of Kadiz, Ky., and Karren Osborne of Kansas City; one brother, Ivan Jones of Bloomfield; one sister, Imogene Mungle of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home Chapel in Advance with the Rev. Quinton Robins officiating.
Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park in Marble Hill.
