Lillian Green, 88, of Jackson passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, at her home. She was born June 16, 1919, in Graysville, Ky., daughter of Thomas and Lula Bom Coble. She first married Oshel Benson. She later married Virgil O. Brown on June 17, 1943. He passed away Dec. 31, 1968. She then married Byron Green, who preceded her in death in 1984...

Lillian Green, 88, of Jackson passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, at her home.

She was born June 16, 1919, in Graysville, Ky., daughter of Thomas and Lula Bom Coble. She first married Oshel Benson. She later married Virgil O. Brown on June 17, 1943. He passed away Dec. 31, 1968. She then married Byron Green, who preceded her in death in 1984.

Lillian was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Fruitland. She worked at a dress factory in St. Louis and as a cook on the river. From 1980 to 1993 she was employed by the city of Commerce, Mo., as city collector. She was a member of Commerce Better Community Club.

Loving survivors include a daughter, Faye (Alan) Farrow of Jackson; five grandchildren, Cody Farrow (Christy Leimer), Connie (Eddie) Workman, Debra (Norm) Swafford, Rodney (Bridget) Benson and Stacy Benson; four great-grandchildren, Eric Workman, Michael (Kyla) Workman, Carrie (David) Haynes, Dustin (Heather) Benson; a daughter-in-law, Betty Keesee of Scott City; a brother, George Coble of San Diego; a sister, Helena Reed of Cape Girardeau; three great-great-grandchildren and one expected any day.

She was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Benson; a brother, Clyde Coble; two sisters, Velma Walker and Grace Chastain.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will follow after visitation, starting at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, with Dr. Barry E. Winders officiating. Interment will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Forest Hills Cemetery near Morley, Mo.
