Lillian Lorraine Maevers, 89, of Cape Girardeau, died Friday, June 29, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Jan. 19, 1918, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Angus Teddy and Alpha Mae Lufcy Baldwin. She and Frank Albert Maevers were married May 5, 1943, in Cape Girardeau.
Mrs. Maevers was a 1936 graduate of Central High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University.
She worked at International Shoe Co., and was a teacher's aide at Schultz School. She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ, its Friendship Circle, choir, and the EUCC Prayer Group. She delivered Meals on Wheels and was a volunteer with FISH.
Survivors include her husband of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Frank (Paulette) Maevers Jr. and Ted Maevers of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Marilyn (Steve) Miller of Charleston, Mo.; three grandchildren, Laura (Dale) Hughes of Cincinnati, Ohio, Reid (Jacquie) Miller of Belmont, Miss., and Ame Maevers of Cape Girardeau.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two infant sons, Joe Allen and Francis Fredrick Maevers.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ernest Jordan officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
