Linda Marie Roth, 66, of Jackson passed away Monday, Oct. 16, 2023, at home, surrounded by her family. Linda fought a courageous 14-year battle with cancer. Throughout all her trials, she remained joyful and steadfast in her Christian faith.

Linda was born Feb. 22, 1957, in Cape Girardeau to Erwin M. and Leota S. Etzold Lorenz. She and Terry Roth were married April 13, 1985, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Shawneetown, also the church of her baptism, confirmation and lifelong membership. She previously taught Sunday school and helped with vacation Bible school.

Linda was a graduate of Jackson High School. She worked for 38 years in the Department of Health Information Management at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, canning vegetables and attending auctions.

Loving survivors include her husband of 38 years, Terry Roth of Jackson; four children and their families, Eric Roth of Jackson, Ryan (Melanie) Roth and son, Isaiah, of Jackson, Travis (Katie) Roth and children, Charlotte, Nathan, Leah and Dylan, of Jackson and Stacy (Clint) Sinn and son, Tobias, of Gordonville; four siblings, Dennis (Carol) Lorenz of Shawneetown, Rita (James) Whaley of Jackson, Curtis (Debby) Lorenz of Pocahontas and Wanda (James) Eaves of Jackson; and a sister-in-law, Belinda "Bea" (late Nelson) Lorenz of Altenburg, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Nelson.

Linda's family was her "world". She was dearly loved.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, and from 10 a.m. to service time Thursday, Oct. 19, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Shawneetown.

The Rev. Virgil Kelm will conduct the funeral at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

If considering a memorial contribution, the family suggests St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
