JACKSON -- Linus Truman Crites, 77, of Jackson died Monday, Aug. 4, 1997, at Jackson Manor. He was born Feb. 7, 1920, at Sedgewickville, son of Rudolph C. and Cora Alice Seabaugh Crites. He and Verna L. Friese were married Oct. 13, 1953. She died Feb. 3, 1984...

JACKSON -- Linus Truman Crites, 77, of Jackson died Monday, Aug. 4, 1997, at Jackson Manor.

He was born Feb. 7, 1920, at Sedgewickville, son of Rudolph C. and Cora Alice Seabaugh Crites. He and Verna L. Friese were married Oct. 13, 1953. She died Feb. 3, 1984.

Crites worked at the former Hahs Shell Station, and from 1974 until retiring in 1982 he was a custodian at Jackson High School. He was a member of Millersville United Methodist Church at Millersville.

Survivors include a son, Truman Crites of Cobden, Ill.; four daughters, Pat Feiste of St. Louis, Wanda Mangles of Jackson, Connie Oldsen of Kennett, Bonnie Strack of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Virgie Zoellner of Park Hills, Wilma Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral service will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Fred Rister will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.
