SIKESTON -- Lloyd Forbis, 69, of Sikeston, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 7, 1922, at Holts Summit, son of Fred M. and Hester Marie Windsor Forbis. He and Norma A. Paxton were married Oct. 15, 1944, at St. Johns.
Forbis owned and operated Maple Oil Co. here from 1957-76, and was a self-employed construction contractor. He was a member of First Christian Church, former elder, and past member and chairman of the church board. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dale Forbis of Sikeston, Carl Forbis of St. Louis; three brothers, Herbert Forbis of Paducah, Ky., Linley Forbis of St. Louis, Glenn Forbis of Sikeston, and three grandsons.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Lee Brummel will officiate, with burial in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens at Morley.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
