FREDERICKTOWN, Mo. -- Lola Ruth Ainley Clements Provow, 79, joined her Lord and precious daughter Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, and is now rejoicing with family, friends and all the angels of Heaven. She fought a long and hard battle with dementia, but was always able to show her love to those around her, even at the end.

A visitation was Friday at Follis Funeral Home in Fredericktown, and a celebration of her life was Saturday at the Chapel at Pinecrest Camp.

Lola Ruth Ainley was born Oct. 27, 1935, in Supply, Arkansas, to Russell and Christeen Hopper Ainley. In 1953, she graduated from Naylor High School in Naylor, Missouri, as valedictorian of her class. Lola then moved to St. Louis, where she met D. Lorn "Red" Clements. They married in February 1955 and had two daughters, LaDonna Clements Lanning and Lisa Clements Hunt. In 1965, the family moved to Fredericktown. On March 23, 1984, Lola Clements was joined in marriage with her second husband, Paul Provow, from Fredericktown, where they continued to reside and make their home.

Lola held a variety of office jobs during her years in St. Louis, working for a grocery supply company, bakery, electric company and others. After moving to Fredericktown, she worked at Madison Memorial Hospital for 17 years. She began her career at the front window, and retired as assistant administrator, but anytime she was needed, Lola would be found during virtually any shift, in any department, doing whatever needed to be done. In 1984, she retired from the hospital to start a new adventure with Computer Networks in Farmington. When she and Paul both retired, they enjoyed traveling to Branson, Missouri, with friends, spending time with their family, particularly the grandchildren, being involved with and helping in their church and community and trying many new things, such as square dancing.

Lola was a proud and active member of Nazarene Church where she served as the congregation's treasurer, often greeted worshippers on Sunday morning, helped Paul drive the church bus, delivered recorded Sunday messages to the homebound and was quick to offer a helping hand, a loving smile, a warm casserole and a strong hug whenever any or all were needed. She served on the Madison Medical Center Auxiliary and was a strong supporter of the Senior Center where she and Paul delivered Meals on Wheels for many years.

In the last few years, she cherished her time with her loving caregivers, sharing long walks, watching eagles at the city lake, shopping at thrift stores, singing, going for rides, and numerous other activities too many to list. Their time together was so incredibly special, they all built a solid, loving family, filling her home with love, laughter, hugs and constant sweet care.

She is now rejoicing in Heaven with her daughter, Lisa Hunt, her parents and her former husband, Lorn Clements.

Lola will be waiting beside Jesus with wide-open arms and her beautiful smile for her daughter, LaDonna Clements Lanning of Winfield, Kansas; her son-in-law, David Hunt of Jackson; her granddaughters, Meghann and Riley Holzbauer of Nevada, Texas, Kyndel Lanning of Forney, Texas, Lauryn Hunt of Oak Ridge and Logan Hunt of Jackson; her two great-grandchildren, Rylann and Miles Holzbauer; her sisters, Anita Fern Hawthorne of St. Louis and Sharon Miller of Pocahontas, Arkansas; her brothers, Duane and Norma Ainley of St. Louis and James and Deborah Ainley of Festus, Missouri; and many loving nieces and nephews. She also is survived by her husband, Paul Provow of Fredericktown; his children, Les and Eileen Provow of Fredericktown, Becky and Gary Young of Austin, Texas, and Julie and Mark Schmale of Houston; and his grandchildren, Joshua, Jason, Dottie, Jessica, Rachel, Benjamin, Nikki, Seth and Sarah. Her family of caregivers includes Janeann and Willie Beaty, Jane Childress, Becky Holland, Alecia Roach, Shirley London, Crystal Edmond, Jessica Roach, Pauline Gorman, Pat Gipson, Lois Hahn and Doris Young.

In lieu of flowers, memorials for Fredericktown Church of the Nazarene, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Serenity Hospice and the Alzheimer's Association can be made in her name.

Follis Funeral Home in Fredericktown was in charge of arrangements.
