SIKESTON, Mo. -- Lorene Helen Kearbey, 78, of Sikeston died Saturday, Sept 14, 2002, at her home.
She was born July 28, 1924, in Salcedo, Mo., daughter of Sherman and Verbal Lands Turley. She and Lester Williams were married Nov. 3, 1945. He died Dec. 30, 1962. She and Walter Dudley Kearbey were married June 10, 1991. He died March 4, 2002.
Kearbey had worked at International Shoe Co. and at Sikeston Laundry.
Survivors include three daughters, Ruth Kearbey of Sikeston, Faye Dickerson of Scott City, Mo. and Phyllis Haynes of Mojave, Calif.; five stepsons, Thomas Kearbey of Kansas, Don, Billy and Teddy Kearbey, all of Sikeston, and Bobby Kearbey of Oregon; a brother, L.T. Turley of Sikeston; a sister, Lela Tate of St. Charles, Mo.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; and 11 great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a stepson, two brothers, and a grandson.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ira Sandifer officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
