LORENE LEWIS

ADVANCE -- Funeral service for Lorene Lewis, Advance Route 3, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Chapel in Bloomfield. Burial will be in Bloomfield Cemetery.

Lewis, 74, died Monday, May 4, 1992, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Oct. 21, 1917, at Swinton, daughter of Rolla and Artie Hobbs. She married George Delay, who died in 1968. She and Winford Lewis were married Dec. 29, 1969.

Lewis lived in the Bloomfield and Swinton communities, and owned and operated Delay's Store in Bloomfield several years.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, George Delay of St. Louis, Donald Delay of Marietta, Ga., Larry Delay of Dexter; four daughters, Loretta Stedman of Three Oaks, Lillian Delay of St. Louis, Norma Christian of Bloomfield, Carol Sifford of Maryland; a sister, Gladys Abernathy of Dexter; 17 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
