CAIRO, Ill. -- Loretto "Sis" Brey, 94, of Cairo died Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 12, 1907, in Cairo, daughter of George and Dora Fitzgerald Brankel. She married William Milton "Pots" Brey, who died in 1961.
Brey and her husband owned Brey's Cleaners. She was pianist for singer Peter Lind Hayes in the 1920s and 1930s.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, charter member of Daughters of Isabella, and member of Cairo Business and Professional Women's Club.
Survivors include four sons, Jerry Brey of Cape Girardeau, Mike Brey of Cairo, Jack Brey of Mounds, Ill., Tom Brey of Folsom, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo from 5 to 8 p.m. today. The rosary will be recited at 7.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Church, with the Rev. Jerome Fortenberry officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge, Ill.
