MIDLOTHIAN, Va. — LouAnn Hays Zoffuto, 79, of Midlothian passed peacefully from this life into the loving arms of our Lord, surrounded by her loving family, Monday, May 27, 2024.
She was born Nov. 11, 1944, in Meridian, Mississippi, to Preston George and Joyce Young Hays.
After graduating from Mississippi State College for Women, she taught school in Memphis, Tennessee.
In 1970, she and Dr. Anthony Charles Zoffuto were married and later moved first to Dexter and then Cape Girardeau. LouAnn taught at Cape Girardeau Central High School for 20 years.
She was a member of the GH Chapter of PEO and the John Guild Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Cape Girardeau.
After the death of Dr. Zoffuto, LouAnn moved to Midlothian to be with her family. There she joined Chapter Y of PEO and the Commonwealth Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by sons, Anthony Charles Zoffuto Jr. (Andrea) and Phillip Hays Zoffuto; grandchildren, Isabelle Sarah, Audrey Caroline, Eleanor Carolann and Julia Grace; and sister-in-law, Teresa Zoffuto Sweatman (Michael) of Cape Cod, Massachusetts; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at Bliley’s Funeral Home, 6900 Hull Street Road in Richmond, Virginia.
