Louis N. Karr, 83, of Scott City, formerly of Steeleville, Ill., passed into his eternal reward Saturday, Sept 11, 2010, in Cape Girardeau

He was born March 27, 1937, at Herculaneum, Mo., to George and Sarah Heiny Karr. He married Marion C. Huch on Nov. 20, 1948, in Columbia, Ill.

Survivors include his wife, Marion; a son, Jerry (Jenny) Karr of Washington, Mo.; two grandsons, Matthew (Kim) Karr of St. Charles, Mo., Benjamin (Leslie) Karr of Oran, Mo.; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Elsie Kriesher of Albuquerque, N.M.; and adopted daughter, Anita (Steve) Mott of Scott City; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Walter G. Karr; brothers Alonzo and Frank Karr; sisters Jessie Reece and Alice Merhtens.

Karr was retired from UMWA Local 1825, Operating Engineers Local 520 and many years of self-employment.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

His body was donated to Anatomy Gifts Registry Whole Body Donators at his request.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Father's Arms Fellowship, 1400 Main St., Scott City, where he was a member. Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks Military Cemetery in St. Louis at a later date.
