She and Robert John Albrecht were married Sept. 3, 1950, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Nov. 28, 1999...

Mabel Clara Albrecht, 82, of Scott City died Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Ill.

She was born March 19, 1928, in Jackson, daughter of August F.W. and Clara Nagel Meier. She and Robert John Albrecht were married Sept. 3, 1950, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Nov. 28, 1999.

Albrecht was a Central High School graduate. She was a Cub Scout den mother, a member of Eisleben Lutheran Church, taught Sunday school at Trinity and Eisleben Lutheran churches, and was a volunteer with Scott County Well Baby Clinic many years.

Mabel enjoyed many years doing book work and payroll with Albrecht Dairy Co., Semo Bulk Hauling and Three M Mini-mart. She enjoyed working at Walmart 18 years before retirement.

Survivors include two sons, Melvin (Robin) Albrecht of Homeworth, Ohio, Mark (Karen) Albrecht of Marion, Ill.; a sister, Opal Hahn of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a stepgranddaughter, Lisa Marie Simmons; and a great-granddaughter, Sierra Ann Albrecht.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, and from 9 a.m. until time of service Friday at Eisleben Lutheran Church.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Rick Foss officiating. Burial will be in Eisleben Cemetery.
