OAK RIDGE -- Mabel G. Rumfelt, 88, of St. Charles and formerly of Oak Ridge died Saturday, May 2, 1992, at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in Creve Couer. She was born Jan. 22, 1904, in Sedgwickville, the daughter of Robert Lee and Mary Jane Caldwell. She married Bern Rumfelt, who preceded her in death in 1957...

OAK RIDGE -- Mabel G. Rumfelt, 88, of St. Charles and formerly of Oak Ridge died Saturday, May 2, 1992, at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in Creve Couer.

She was born Jan. 22, 1904, in Sedgwickville, the daughter of Robert Lee and Mary Jane Caldwell. She married Bern Rumfelt, who preceded her in death in 1957.

She moved from Oak Ridge to St. Charles in 1960, where she worked for Famous Barr in the company's marketing division.

She was a member and past matron of the Oak Ridge Chapter #310 of the Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include a son, Tom Rumfelt of St. Charles; a sister. Mary Morris of St. Charles; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Oak Ridge Cemetery, with the Rev. Jeff Militti officiating. Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson is in charge of the arrangments.
