Mabel Ruth Smith, 86, of Scott City died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 8, 1932, in Sikeston, Missouri, to Bardis and Evelyn Medling Wiseman. She married Robert Teddy "R.T." Smith on Oct. 8, 1955. He preceded her in death Oct. 27, 2002.
Mabel was a cook at Fisherman's Net and Blue Hole BBQ. She was a member of Jackson Church of Christ.
She is survived by two sons, Barry (Anita) Allen of Arnold, Missouri, and Terry Smith of Scott City; a daughter, Lisa Smith of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Larry (Gini) Wiseman of Dayton, Ohio; a sister, Kay (Newt) Gilliland of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Mike Smith; two brothers; and a sister.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
Funeral service will be held at noon Saturday at the chapel, with Brian Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
