SIKESTON, Mo. -- Margaret Lucille Moorman, 71, of Sikeston died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at her home.

She was born Nov. 13, 1938, in Memphis, Tenn., to the late Sarah Magdaline Youngman and William Robert Dixon Jr.

On Sept. 7, 1958, she was married to George Doan Moorman in Germantown, Tenn., and he survives of the home.

She was a retired history teacher at Sikeston High School, a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston and a past member of the Methodist Women.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, George Doan Moorman Jr. of Deland, Fla., Kenneth C. and Janet Moorman of Troy, Mo., and John R. and Alison Moorman of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren, Justin, Kyler, Magdaline and Kenneth C. Moorman Jr.; and two brothers, William Robert Dixon III of Red Banks, Miss., and Lynn Russell Dixon of Hernando, Miss.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Sikeston, with the Revs. Geoff Posegate and Jeremiah Reeve officiating.

Burial will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo., under the direction of Blanchard Funeral Chapel.
