Margaret M. Thompson, 87, of Mount Vernon, Ill., died Thursday, Aug. 29, 1996, at Fountainbleau Lodge.
She was born July 29, 1909, in Baltimore, daughter of Noel Hall and Alice Kate Gassman Matthews. She and Dr. Harry G. Thompson Sr. were married Dec. 1, 1935. He died Nov. 7, 1968.
Thompson was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Mount Vernon, treasurer of St. Anne's Guild for many years and was a member and past-president of Jefferson-Hamilton County Medical Auxiliary.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Alice Regenhardt of Cape Girardeau, Caroline Crocker of Newton, Iowa, and Elizabeth Rhoads of Lakeland, Fla.; a son, Dr. H. Goff Thompson of Mount Vernon; two brothers, John Matthews of Lakewood, N.J., and Noel Matthews of Rochester, N.Y.; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Robert D. Harmon officiating. Burial will be in Kirk Cemetery at Ina, Ill.
Friends may call at the church after 9:30 a.m. Monday.
