Charleston -- Graveside service for Martha Josephine Howlett of Pine Bluff, Ark., will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, with the Rev. J.L. Laughlin officiating.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home after 2:30 p.m. today.
Howlett, 91, died Saturday, Feb. 4, 1995, at Trinity Village Retirement Home in Pine Bluff.
She was born Feb. 3, 1904, in Charleston, daughter of Joseph Anderson and Martha Pearl Marshall Howlett. She married Byron P. Howlett, who preceded her in death.
Howlett lived in Monticello, Ark., for many years where she and her husband owned and operated Howlett Builders Supply. She was educatd at Christian College in Columbia and Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau.
She taught school in Charleston and Risco. She was a member of First Christian Church here, and member of Junior Auxiliary, P.E.O. and D.A.R. Historical Society of Monticello.
Survivors include two sons, Col. Byron P. Howlett Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, John Joe Howlett of Little Rock, Ark.; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister.
