MOREHOUSE -- Mary Abernathy, 55, of Morehouse died Monday, Aug. 11, 1997, at her home.

She was born Nov. 4, 1941, at Swift, daughter of Ben and Mary Cobb Davis. She and Vendol Abernathy were married March 11, 1956.

Abernathy lived in Morehouse most of her life. She was a member of Morehouse Oneness Pentecost Church.

Survivors include her husband; four sons, Trennis Abernathy of California, Trenton Abernathy of Morehouse, Ernie and Kevin Abernathy of Sikeston; her mother of Poplar Bluff; two brothers, Bobby and Norman Davis of Poplar Bluff; four sisters, Christine Hemby and Erma Derr of St. Louis, Betty Montgomery of Poplar Bluff, Linda Wilkerson of Farmington; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Morehouse Oneness Church from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at the church at 2 p.m. Thursday, with the Revs. Nathaniel Lewis and Jimmy Vent officiating. Burial will be in McGee Chapel Cemetery near Glen Allen.
