Mary E. McMullen, 75, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, April 20, 1999, at the Ratliff Care Center.

She was born in Calhoun County Miss., Jan. 15, 1924, the daughter of Thomas and Lola Shelton Rutledge. She married L.Z. McMullen March 15, 1949, in Choctaw, Miss. He preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 1963.

She was a homemaker and a member of the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

She is survived by five daughters, Martha L. McMullen, Georgia A. McMcullen and Shirley F. Williams, all of Cape Girardeau, Mary J. Abdullah of Baton Rouge, La., and Johnnie L. Sumlin of Alexandria, Va.; a sister, Joella Edmonds of Parma; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be after noon Sunday at the Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church at Parma.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the church with the Rev. Johnny Thomas officiating.

Burial will be at the Macedonia Cemetery in Malden.
