Mary K. Morgan, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

She was born July 30, 1930, in Winfield, Kan., to William M. and Kathreen E. Howard Grove. She and Kenneth M. Morgan were married June 29, 1952, in El Dorado, Kan.

Mary was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. She was a registered nurse in orthopedics at Southeast Hospital, retiring in 1988. She previously worked in a Salina, Kan., hospital before moving to Cape Girardeau in 1970. She received a bachelor of science degree in nursing and trained at the Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth M. Morgan of Cape Girardeau; a son, William (Melissa M.) Morgan of Millersville; two daughters, Marilyn (Alan) Berry of Farmington, Mo., and Melinda (Cary) Winchester of Grand Rivers, Ky.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, a brother and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bethany Baptist Church, with Dr. Shawn Wasson officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society or Bethany Baptist Church.
