Maurice E. Eagan, 82, of Roanoke, Ill., passed away at 8:50 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill. Maurice E. Eagan, 82, of Roanoke, Ill., passed away at 8:50 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.

He was born April 12, 1928, at Arkansas City, Kan., a son of Ray Chapel and Treva Berdeen Holdredge Eagan. He married Patricia R. Stanley on July 3, 1959, at St. Maries, Idaho. She survives.

Also surviving are his children, Thomas (Laurie) Eagan of Peoria, Maureen (Mark) St. Vrain of Crestwood, Ky., Rosemary Eagan of High Ridge, Mo., and Daniel (Amy) Eagan of Holt's Summit, Mo.; his grandchildren, Kevin (Katie) Eagan of Glen Carbon, Ill., Valerie Eagan of Villeurbanne, France, Eric Eagan of Peoria, Michelle St. Vrain of Vermillion, S.D., and Angela St. Vrain of Crestwood, Ky; his step-grandchildren, John (Amanda) Alltop of Normal, Ill., Ashley Alltop of Greenville, Ill., and Joshua Alltop of Pontiac, Ill.; his brothers and sisters, Lowell (Joy) Eagan of Arkansas City, Kan., Verna Davidson of Lawrence, Kan., Gerald Eagan of Arkansas City; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Betty Parrish; a brother, Jack Eagan; and two brothers-in-law, Darrell Davidson and Thomas Parrish.

Maurice served his country in the United States Army in occupational forces in Japan after World War II from 1946 to 1947.

Maurice was a pastor from 1959 to 1994. He served in the Foursquare, Village Missions and United Methodist Churches.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Eureka Church of the Nazarene in Eureka, Ill. The Rev. Gordon Barrick will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka, and an hour before services at the church. Burial will be in Roanoke Township Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded.
