Mrs. Mazie Aslee Bryant, 83, of Chaffee, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 5, 2006, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born Oct. 9, 1922, in Scopus, Mo., daughter of Lee Estes and Maudie Mae Cook Estes. She and Roy C. Bryant were married on Oct. 25, 1941, in Chaffee. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1988...

Mrs. Mazie Aslee Bryant, 83, of Chaffee, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 5, 2006, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Oct. 9, 1922, in Scopus, Mo., daughter of Lee Estes and Maudie Mae Cook Estes. She and Roy C. Bryant were married on Oct. 25, 1941, in Chaffee. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1988.

Mazie was a devoted Christian, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a lifelong member and worker at the First Baptist Church in Chaffee. She loved working in her flower gardens and appreciated the wonders of nature. She was a role model for her family and friends.

Mazie is survived by two sons, Roy DeWayne Bryant and wife, Debra, of Cape Girardeau, and Jim Bryant and wife, Pam, of Roswell, Ga. She is also survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, father and mother, six brothers and six sisters.

Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with Dr. Derek Staples officiating. Burial will be in the Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.

The family requests memorials be sent to the Alzheimer's Research Association.
