Melodee Sherree McCanless, 49, passed away Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, at her home in Oak Ridge.
She was born May 19, 1962, in Portland, Ore., to Charles Scott and Sherree Stephens. She and Terry McCanless were married Feb. 29, 1984, in Orlando, Fla. They were blessed with two sons.
Melodee enjoyed raising the boys. While living in Orlando she actively volunteered 15 years with Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. They moved to Oak Ridge in December 2002.
She and Terry attended First Baptist Church in Oak Ridge and Caney Fork Baptist Church near Oak Ridge.
Survivors include her loving husband of 27 years, Terry of Oak Ridge; two sons, Aaron and Jolani McCanless of Orlando; her father, Charles Scott of Lyons, Ore.; a sister, Shirley Renee Luster of Alexander City, Ala.; five brothers, Glen Scott of Baltimore, Md., Phillip Scott of Florida, David and Leonard Scott of Lyons, and Darrell Scott of Los Angeles.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
There will be no service.
For those wishing to make a memorial contribution, the family suggests Caney Fork Baptist Church.
