MELVIN V. LAWS

PERRYVILLE -- Melvin V. Laws, 74, of Perryville died Saturday, Dec. 20, 1998, at his home.

He was born May 21, 1924, in Perry County to Vincent Aloysius and Lenette Frances Ernst Laws.

He married Billie Pauline Tucker of Perryville on Aug. 17, 1943.

Survivors include a brother, Joseph Don Laws of St. Mary, and two sisters, Cleo Setran of Minneapolis, Minn., and Lyndola Regli of St. Louis.

He was a retired farmer and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of Christ the Savior Church at Brewer and the Knights of Columbus.

He was also a member of American Legion Post 133 and VFW Post 4282.

Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 9:20 a.m. Tuesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

A Knights of Columbus wake will be Monday at 6:45 p.m., followed by an American Legion wake at 7 and a VFW wake at 7:15 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Christ the Savior Church, with the Rev. Felipe Martinez officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
