Michelle Dawn Enke Perkins, 52, of Cary, North Carolina, formerly of Cape Girardeau passed away on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina.

She was born Dec. 17, 1968, in Cape Girardeau to Ken and Janet Wills Enke.

It is with great sadness that the family announce the sudden passing of Michelle after a battle with cancer.

She will be lovingly remembered by father and mother, Ken and Janet Wills Enke; brother, Michael Enke; son, Jacob Perkins; and daughter, Isabella Perkins; and their father, Tom Perkins; fiance, Mark Adam; cousin, Christine Gaither; aunts, Charlotte Wills and Carolyn Rouviere; and uncle, John Wills. She will be missed by many, many friends and co-workers.

Michelle was a graduate of Cape Central High School and completed her bachelor's degree in communications at Southeast Missouri State University. She was very active in her sorority Delta Delta Delta.

After graduation she moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, and began a career in communications. At the time of her death, she held the position as marketing director with Mercury Gate at Regency Park in Carey.

Michelle intensely loved her family and pets, spending time at the beach, dancing to 80's music (her favorite song "Africa" by Toto) and enjoying a glass of vino on the porch. Among her favorite memories was a trip to the Amalfi coast in Italy with her fiance Mark and embracing all of life's pleasures. She was known for her kindness, generous nature, and passion for life.

Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel with the Rev. Rod Benkendorf officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. Friday until service time.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Cancer Society, Juvenile Diabetes or Hanover Lutheran Church.
