CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Norman "Mike" Pobst Sr., 79, of Chaffee passed away Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Chaffee Nursing Center.

He was born Sept. 17, 1933, at Caney, Mo., to the late Matthew and Eleanora Susan Gosche Pobst. He and Wanda Evans were married May 26, 1960. She preceded him in death May 4, 1981.

Mike was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War.

He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, St. Ambrose Mens Club and Chaffee Elks Lodge 1810. He was a retired truck driver for Day Transfer Co. in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include two sons, Mike and Donnie Pobst of Chaffee; two brothers, Clifford and Larry Pobst of Chaffee; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Conroy; and a granddaughter, Fawn Shelton.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fairview Cemetery near Puxico, Mo., with full military honors presented by Missouri Honor Guard. The Rev. Randy Tochtrop will officiate.
