SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Mildred Brase, 93, was born Dec. 18, 1921, at Owensville, Missouri, and died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015, at Springfield.
She was the fourth of five children of the Rev. Benjamin and Mollie Wulf. Mildred married Herbert A. Brase on June 28, 1942, and he survives.
She taught in rural schools before and after her marriage to Herb. During World War II, she worked in St. Louis to support the war effort. She worked for the Missouri State Employment Service until her retirement in 1989.
A lifelong Methodist, she shared her beautiful soprano voice in choirs and was a featured soloist on numerous occasions. Growing up in a parsonage family, she was a leader in many groups, including the Women's Society of Christian Service and the United Methodist Women at the local and state levels. Her devotion to church and job was exceeded by her love and attention to spouse and family. Their needs always came first, and no sacrifice was too great. She is sorely missed by family and friends.
Mildred was the much-loved wife of Herbert A. Brase; mother of Beverly (Jerry) Boehmer of Springfield and Sue (Bob) Zoll of Willard, Missouri; grandmother of Jill Boehmer Cobb, Bruce Boehmer, Amy Zoll Scott and Lori Zoll; and great-grandmother of 10.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion United Methodist Church in Gordonville.
The funeral service will be at noon, followed by burial in the Zion Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Zion United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Funeral arrangements were by the Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home in Springfield.
