ULLIN, Ill. -- Mildred Newell, 80, Ullin Route 1, died Monday, March 24, 1997, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
She was born April 20, 1916, in Elco, daughter of Eddie and Bessie Provo Sheffer. She and Glenn Newell were married Jan. 31, 1934.
Newell was a member of Elco Pentecostal Church, and taught Sunday School 43 years.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Dorothy Smith of Tamms; four sons, Raymond Newell of Anna, James Newell of Ullin, David M. Newell of Lesterville, Mo., Michael Newell of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Harold and Herman Sheffer of Paducah, Ky.; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Carl Land and David W. Newell officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
