MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Milford T. Shell, 92, of Marble Hill died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at his home.
He was born May 31, 1915, in Lutesville, Mo., son of Charley and Sadie Francis Shell. He and Leona Elizabeth Richards were married Dec. 2, 1939. She died March 21, 1984. He then married Mellie T. Hahn on Aug. 2, 1985. She died March 10, 2005.
Shell was a carpenter and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Dale Shell of St. Charles, Mo., Norman Gale Shell of St. Peters, Mo.; two daughters, Lee Ann Fry of Logansport, Ind., Linda Aytes of Herndon, Va.; a stepson, Ted Hahn of Cape Girardeau; a stepdaughter, Jane Chestnut of Marble Hill; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; five stepgrandchildren; six great-stepgrandchildren; four great-great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Gerald Huff officiating.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. at Laurel Hills Memorial Garden at 2000 N. Pennsylvania Ave. in St. Louis, with the Rev. Michael Merold officiating.
