Milton Armor George, 79, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, May 4, 2012, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Nov. 27, 1932, in St. Louis, son of Homer Armor George and Ruth Elizabeth Ingram George.

Milton graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School and St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Upon graduation, he joined the family business, Broadway Prescription Shop, with his father Homer. He purchased the business from his father, and upon retirement in 1998, sold the business to his brother, Harry George. After retirement, he worked as a relief pharmacist, when needed, at Main Street Pharmacy in East Prairie, Mo., and Special Design Health Care in Cape Girardeau.

He and Marjorie Deimund were married June 25, 1954, at First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

Milton became a member of First Baptist Church in 1972. He served as a deacon and chairman of administration on the church council. He was a member of the Evening Optimist Club and served as president. He was a board member of the Gibson Recovery Center and was president of the board for 14 years. He also served on the Southeast Missouri Hospital Board. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a member of the Southeast Missouri Pharmacy Association. In addition to his Missouri pharmacy license, he was licensed in Arkansas and Tennessee.

Milton loved and enjoyed the outdoors and he was an avid duck, pheasant and turkey hunter. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden as well as growing flowers.

Loving survivors include his wife, Marjorie; his two daughters, Tamara George Stewart and husband Jim, and Kimberly Dawn George; a son, Milton A. "Kip" George II and wife Joanne; six grandchildren, Gabriel, Adrian and Angie Lascano; Samuel, Finn and Tessa George. He is also survived by a brother, Harry George and wife Shelia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia; and twin children, Mark and Debbie.

In accordance with his wishes, Milton donated his body to Washington University for medical research.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, 1289 Lexington Ave. in Cape Girardeau. The memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. It will be officiated by Rev. Michael Shupert.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gibson Recovery Center, 340 S. Broadview St., Cape Girardeau, or First Baptist Church, 1289 Lexington Ave., Cape Girardeau.
