THEBES, Ill. -- Minnie Ellen Honey, 76, of Thebes, Ill., died Thursday, Oct. 17, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 12, 1920, in Anniston, the daughter of Willie and Julia Gilmore Watson. She married Ira L. Honey on July 24, 1941. He survives.

She was a member of the Thebes Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Vella Sue Smith and Kimberly Hornback, both of Jackson; five grandchildren and a great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by an infant son.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Crain Funeral Home in Tamms with the Rev. Carl D. Fisher officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
