JACKSON, Mo. -- Funeral for Minnie E. Sides of Jackson will be held at 2 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. The Revs. Barry Winders and Luther Rhodes will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Fruitland, Mo.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 8:30 a.m. until time of service.

Sides, 82, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Oct. 30, 1919, at Arbor, Mo., daughter of Harv E. and Dolly A. Houart Dalton. She and Norman H. Sides were married Nov. 26, 1937. He died Oct. 31, 1977.

Sides was a member of First General Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Rusby Sides of Tacoma, Wash., Marvin Sides of Jackson, Steve Sides of Lakewood, Colo.; six daughters, Nelda Alpert of Maryland Heights, Mo., Genie Baker of Old Appleton, Mo., Emma Harper of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mary Nash of Belton, Mo., Geneva Hartle and Sherry Patrick of Jackson; a brother, Earl Dalton of Cape Girardeau; 30 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, and two brothers.
