Monsignor William J. "Bill" Stanton, 85, of St. Louis and Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at Barnes-Jewish Extended Care in St. Louis.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau. Parish prayers will be offered at 6:30 p.m. at the cathedral.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at the cathedral, with the Most Rev. Edward M. Rice officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
