ANNA, Ill. -- Nannie Belle Bean, 89, of Anna died Friday at the Franklin County Skilled Nursing Unit in Benton, Ill.

She was born at Mt. Pleasant in Union County on April 20, 1903, the daughter of John and Sarah (Hileman) Elam. She was the youngest of 13 children.

She was a member of the Camp Ground Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a life-long resident of the Mt. Pleasant and Anna communities.

She was married to Herman Bean on Nov. 22, 1924. He preceded her in death Dec. 29, 1977.

She is survived by four sons, Harold Bean of St. Louis; Duward Bean of Benton, Ill., George Bean of Mapleton, Ill. and Ronald Bean of Hays, Kansas and by five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Crain Funeral Home in Anna. Burial will follow at the McGinnis Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Crain Funeral Home in Anna after 5 p.m. Sunday.
