KARNAK, Ill. -- Nina Davis, 57, of Karnak died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 1997, at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis.
She was born April 5, 1940, in Karnak, daughter of John and Stella Sexton Vanmeter.
Davis was a member of Karnak United Methodist Church, Karnak Civic Club, and was active in the American Arthritis Foundation. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include a daughter, Veronica Dunkin of Karnak; a son, Phillip Davis of Olmsted; four sisters, Betty Rentfro of Karnak, Valda Simpson of Cairo, Georgia Staton of Joppa, Melba Brovich of Wilmington, N.C.; a brother, John Vanmeter Jr. of Grand Chain; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Karnak United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Joey Dunning officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery at Grand Chain.
Friends may call at the church Saturday from 10 a.m. to service time.
