NORVEL DERICKSON SR.

Norvel M. Derickson Sr., 79, of St. Louis died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999, at St. Joseph Hospital in Kirkwood.

He was born at Festus, son of Abraham and Nancy Derickson.

Derickson was a pipefitter. He was a member of Pipefitters Local 562, past grand exalted ruler of Affton Elks Lodge 2635, and member of VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include three sons, Gary Derickson of Festus, Norvel Derickson Jr. of Wisconsin, Patrick Derickson of Denver, Colo.; six daughters, Nancy Derickson and Amy Hessler of Oakville, Mary Farrar of Cape Girardeau, Holly Wohlwend of Anna, Ill., Denise Schaberg of Belleville, Ill., and Michele Layton of Cedar Hill.

Also surviving are four stepsons, David Larson of Bridgeton, Daniel Larson of Webster Groves, Gregory Larson of Spring, Texas, Stephen Larson of Phoenix, Ariz.; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a stepgrandchild.

He was preceded in death by two wives, Ruby and Kathleen.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Kutis Funeral Home in Affton.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Assumption Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at Kimmswick.
