O'DELL CONNER

NEW MADRID -- O'Dell Conner, 81, formerly of New Madrid and Lilbourn, died Saturday, June 26, 1999, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville, Ill.

He was born Nov. 22, 1917, at Point Pleasant, son of Wavely and Nettie Conner. He first married Julett Tyms. He later married Minnie Anderson, who preceded him in death.

Survivors include four daughters, Ollye Henderson of St. Louis, Clara Ross of Sacramento, Calif., Delores Smith of Alton, Ill., Mary Conner of New Madrid; a stepson, James Brown of Lilbourn; two stepdaughters, Marilyn Anderson and Carolyn Anderson of West Point, Miss.; 27 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at noon Saturday at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Lilbourn. The Rev. M.P. Tremble will officiate. Burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery at New Madrid.

Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home at Howardville is in charge of arrangements.
