SCOTT CITY -- Omer L. Hagan, 85, Scott City Route 1, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born May 17, 1907, at Benton, son of Lawrence and Pearl Stallings Hagan. He and Edna Margaret Held were married Dec. 17, 1928, at Commerce.

Hagan was a retired brakeman with Cotton Belt Railroad, and farmed many years in this area. He was a member of Eisleben Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Eugene Hagan of Deering, Ga., Robert Hagan Sr. of Scott City, Lawrence Hagan of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Gussie Essner of Kelso; a sister, Geneva Sitze of Riverside, Calif.; 21 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, two brothers, two half brothers, and a half sister.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Eisleben Church. The Rev. Joel Sarrault will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City after 4 p.m. today. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday.
