OAK RIDGE -- Onetta Wipfler, 76, of Oak Ridge died Wednesday, March 11, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 24, 1922, at Mesler, daughter of Louis J. and Florence E. Bollinger. She married Charles Z. Wipfler on Feb. 14, 1942. He survives.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Jackson, where she belonged to the St. Ann's Ladies Sodality. She worked many years at the former Wayside Smorgasbord in Jackson and retired in 1991.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Gerald Wipfler of Scott City and Herman Joe Wipfler of Saunemin, Ill.; a daughter, Joan Phillips of Oak Ridge; three brothers, Jim Bollinger of Sikeston, Ben Bollinger of Cape Girardeau and Louis "Buster" Bollinger of Oran; five sisters, Martha Rodgers of Morley, Bernice Trost of Cape Girardeau, Rita Friga of Chaffee, Shirley Wilson of Greenville and Frances Eftink of Springfield; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and one grandchild.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, where parish prayers will be held at 8. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church, with Msgr. Edward Eftink officiating. Burial will be at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
